A traditional warm-down pose in Yoga is Happy Baby. Lying on your back, you reach inside your bent legs and grab the outside of your feet. The name comes from the position into which babies frequently contort themselves in their cribs. Easy for babies, not so easy for adults 11 weeks post hip-resurfacing surgery.
In a hot Yoga class today, for the first time since surgery, I was able to grab the foot of my injured leg in the pose. I never have been close before and was content to simply grab my shin. I am not sure I will be able to do it tomorrow, but it was nice to do today.
